Data exchange with other programms that administrate literature#

If you have already saved datas in a conventional program that administrates your literature, you are able to export these to PUMA or to import posts from PUMA into the used program. Please consider, that PUMA is preset to import only 20 datasets.To get more posts or to load up the whole database, go on like this: Get logged in at PUMA and klick in the usermenu the button "settings". In the tab "settings", under the headline "Layout of your Tagbox and post lists", in the box "settings" per site, type in the number of datas, which have to import per process at the maximum.

A short instruction#

Citavi
The exchange of datas between Citavi and PUMA only operates with the latest version of the program (Citavi 3). For an import, please klick at Citavi the menu "online recherche" (Strg + L) and klick " add Database/catalogue". In the input mask you can type in the name PUMA. After less time you can see the searchresult under "found". Then tick of the screenwindow for your selection and klick "add". In the list of database of the menu "online recherche" now you can klick on PUMA and type in the requested search keywords, to import the datas. EndNote
EndNote-datas you can read in at PUMA in the menu "post publication", if you make a klick with the mouse at the tab "upload". For the export from PUMA please choose the required publication entry or the required list and pick with the function Export Posts the EndNote-format. The machine aided file you can save local and be able to read it in under EndNote. A detailed instruction you can find under the homepage of EndNote and its help-menu.
JabRef
The Open-Source-programm to administrate literature, JabRef, works with the BibTeX-format. For the export of your PUMA-datas into the BibTeX-format, please choose the required post of publication or generate a publication list. Then choose with the function Export Posts the format of BibTeX. The file, that you generated this way, is to open directly with JabRef respectively import. A convienient synchronisation of your datas between PUMA and JabRef you can get for free from the plugin of BibSonomy for JabRef. Reference Manager
export your PUMA-datas first in the RIS-format. Choose the Reference Manager, pick in the menu "file" the function "import" and follow the instructions.
