Lediglich der Inhalt des Weblogs ist wissenschaftlicher Natur. Die Form bleibt dieselbe: subjektiv, ungeprüft, unwissenschaftlich. Blogging ist kein wissenschaftliches Arbeiten, da es nicht auf der Methodik aufbaut, durch die ein sogenanntes "wissenschaftliches Arbeiten" gekennzeichnet ist.
