We explored predictors for characterizing the generality of six encyclopedia texts. We had human subjects rank-order the generality of the texts. We also developed statistics from analysis of word frequency and from comparison to a set of reference terms. We found a statistically significant relationship between the human ratings of text generality and our automatic measure.}, address = {Berlin / Heidelberg}, affiliation = {University of Maryland College of Information Studies College Park 20742 MD USA}, author = {Allen, R. and Wu, Yejun}, booktitle = {Digital Libraries: People, Knowledge, and Technology}, doi = {10.1007/3-540-36227-4_11}, editor = {Lim, Ee and Foo, Schubert and Khoo, Chris and Chen, Hsinchun and Fox, Edward and Urs, Shalini and Costantino, Thanos}, interhash = {bbc03e374accd61f51dc2e9995d6573e}, intrahash = {117cc68d732e8e93f746f025152dbd2f}, pages = {111-116}, publisher = {Springer}, series = {Lecture Notes in Computer Science}, title = {Generality of Texts}, url = {http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/3-540-36227-4_11}, volume = 2555, year = 2010 }
