VIAF ist ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt von Nationalbibliotheken, das von OCLC implementiert und gehosted wird. Projektziel ist es, eine Kostensenkung bibliothekarischer Normdaten bei gleichzeitiger Steigerung ihres Nutzens zu erreichen, indem die nationalen Normdateien abgeglichen und verlinkt werden und die verlinkten Daten im Web zugänglich gemacht werden.
Ibiza - April 17-18, 2009The Workshop on the Future of Web Search is a follow-up of the highly successful workshops that took place before in Barcelona, Bertinoro and Andorra. This year the workshop takes place at the Congress Palace of Ibiza, in Santa Eularia des Reu, which is located 20 kms from Ibiza's international airport.The main objective of this year's workshop is to bring together key researchers in the field of Semantic Search.
To help scientists decide which one of the many systems to use, we have tested some of the most relevant applications (commercial and non-commercial) as to how well the respective software performs in five different categories. These reflect the most significant abilities and features of reference management software. In the table below, each application is rated in each category with a simple star rating system (1 = poor, 5 = perfect). Clicking on the star ratings opens a detailed comparison table with more information about the test results. The order of the applications in the table reflects the order in which they were added to the comparison.
To simplify, clarify, and unify the ECPA standards, providing stronger privacy protections for communications and associated data in response to changes in technology and new services and usage patterns, while preserving the legal tools necessary for government agencies to enforce the laws, respond to emergency circumstances and protect the public.
The idea of the proposed symposium is to challenge linguists both to re-think the concept of synonymy and sameness, as opposed to the similarity, of linguistic expressions and to approach the concept of synonymy from a broader perspective. We welcome contributions addressing the concept of synonymy from various perspectives and backgrounds (including theoretical, empirical and experimental approaches), ranging from studies of lexical, functional and formal synonymy to studies of synonymy within and across languages
Following a successful first edition, we are pleased to announce the 2nd edition of the Large Scale Hierarchical Text Classification (LSHTC) Pascal Challenge. The LSHTC Challenge is a hierarchical text classification competition, using large datasets. This year’s challenge will increase the scale and the difficulty of the task, using data from Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org), in addition to the ODP Web directory data (www.dmoz.org).
