Data exchange with other publication management systems#

If you have stored your data with a common literature program you can export them to PUMA import entries from PUMA to your program. Please note that the start configuration of PUMA allows only to import 20 data sets. To load more data or the complete database you should go this way: Start the PUMA homepage, login and click at the user menu on "settings". Then choose the tab "settings". Now you can change the amount of data sets to import at each transaction under the title "layout of your tag box and post lists" in the field "items per page".

Short instruction#

Bibliographix
The exchange of data between the literature program Bibliographix and PUMA is running, for example, with the common exchange format BibTeX. You have to generate with the export function of PUMA a BibTeX file with the file extension .bib or .txt. Then you start Bibliographix and click the menu "online search", "import" and the tab "import/export". Do not forget to choose "BibTeX" as import format.
Citavi
The exchange between Citavi and PUMA is only running with the current version Citavi 3. To import data you have to click the menu "online search" (STRG + L) and then "add database/catalogue". In the entry mask you can input the name PUMA. After a few seconds you can see the search result under "found". Mark the choosing box and click "add". In the database list of the menu "online search" you can choose PUMA and input the search tags in order to import your data.
EndNote
In PUMA you can load EndNote files in the menu "post publication" when you click the tab "upload". To export your PUMA data you have to choose the publication entry you want and then to select the EndNote format with the export function. You can save the automatically generated file on your computer hard disk and load in your EndNote installation.
JabRef
The open source literature program JabRef is working with the BibTeX format. To export your PUMA data to the BibTeX format you have first to choose the publication entries you want or to generate a publication list. Then you select the BibTeX format with the export function. You can directly import the generated file in JabRef. The BibSonomy plugin is a convenient possibility to sync your data between PUMA and JabRef. Reference Manager
First you have to export your PUMA data to the RIS format. In the Reference Manager you select in the menu "file" the function "import" and follow the instructions.
Zotero
PUMA allows to export publication entries to Zotero. You can find the complete instruction on the page System Tools.
