%X Investigated individual reasons for the consumption of food considered to be healthy. 112 people took part in the study. Information was collected on the subjects' attitudes toward 21 selected healthy foods, sociodemographic variables, knowledge about nutrition, and their personality. The results provide information about dimensions of food judgments and a typology of eating habits. An important finding is that eating behavior cannot be predicted directly from attitudes; intervening variables have to be taken into account. Implications of these results for nutritional counseling and preventive medicine are discussed.
